On March 12, 2014, the meeting between the organic market operators “Organic communication platform "Organic operators, the Spring has come!" was held

The meeting took place in the office of the project "Organic market development in Ukraine" (Kyiv, 15 Khreshchatyk str., of. 6).

During the event, the reports were carried out by manager of the project "Organic Market Development in Ukraine" – Natalie Prokopchuk: “The first national stall of Ukraine at the largest international exhibition of organic products “BioFach 2014" and " Ukraine Organic Business Directory 2014, the efficiency of information on issuing and suspension of certificates by any certification company ", PR manager  of the project - Sergii Rybak: “A list of upcoming events in organic sector in 2014”, quality manager of the certification body "Organic Standard "- Ksenia Gladchenko: "Organic law: status quo”, manager-coordinator of the Public union "Organic Ukraine” - Larysa Klynova: “Increasing the emphasis on organic products to expose pseudo-organic ones ", head of Retail Academy - Tetiana Sytnyk: "The terms "ecologically clean" and "organic" – consumers’ expectations", manager of International charitable organization "Information center "Green Dossier" - Kateryna Malkova: " The concept of video popularization of organic products ", chairman of the board of Organic federation of Ukraine - Eugene Milovanov: “Organic poster contest” and investment business director of the Trade house "Organic Era" - Olena Berezovska: " Communication platform – as a strategic dialogue for focused interaction ".
According to the results of the discussion during the meeting, the following decisions were made:

  • prepare suggestions for changes to the Law of Ukraine “On the production and circulation of organic agricultural products and raw materials", answer questions from state bodies regarding the elaboration/ approval of by-laws;
  • create a list of questions for a lawyer that concerns organic sector for the proper process of amending the law / adopting the by-laws , labeling , etc.;
  • arrange a meeting with a lawyer who has worked on an organic law, with the support of the project;
  • send a request to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine to gain access to regional passports;
  • make suggestions for amendments to the law on organic zones and organic labeling protection (especially of the "Euro leaf");
  • prepare a complaint from most of the companies, address the Consumer protection committee, Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine and the Secretariat-General of the European Commission, asking the EU to cooperate for securing the legal use of the "Euro leaf" in Ukraine;
  • legally fix violations of the consumer rights as a result of misuse of the "Euro leaf";
  • get the contact information of the programmer to develop applications for mobile devices based on Android and iOS for reading the codes of organic products in order to obtain consumer information about them.
