New rules of organic products import to EU

Dear organic market operators,

from 01.01. until 31.12.2016, at the point of entry into the EU for the consignment from 10 countries (Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation) will be conducted additional official inspections of each organic consignment.

It includes:

  • Chapter 10 – Cereals
  • Chapter 11 – Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten
  • Chapter 12 – Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruit; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (including 12.06 - Sunflower seeds)
  • Chapter 23 – Residues and waste from the food industries , prepared animal fodder ( including 23.06 - Oilcake and other solid residues, whether or not ground or in the form of pellets , resulting from the extraction of vegetable fats or oils, other than those of heading 2304 or 2305).

Please, provide for the consignments of products necessary identification.
Also in due time inform the control body or control authority of each consignment to be imported into the European Union. All documentation for the cargo will be additionally checked during import and also will be conducted additional sampling of each party at point of entry.
