Internship Program of German Business for Ukraine

The Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft, OA), the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine (UCCI) conduct Internship Program of German Business for Ukraine.
The program is directed to students in higher semesters with first working experience, the limit of age is 30 years. Applicants have a professional background and education either in economics or in engineering. Very good knowledge of English knowledge is required, (very) good knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory.
The program offers in 2015 and 2016 up to 25 internships each (up to 50 in total) for high qualified interns from Ukraine in well-known German companies.
The program shall:

  • Enable know-how transfer from Germany to Ukraine
  • Improve the possibilities of the participants on the Ukrainian job market
  • Improve the image of economic cooperation between Germany and Ukraine, as well as in Germany as in Ukraine
  • Advocate the networking of young professionals from Ukraine
  • Establish a network for German companies
  • Have a favorable impact due to synergy effect
  • Foster Ukrainian-German business relations


The internships in 2015 will last from September to December (four months). In the second term, the internships will last from February to June 2016 (five months).
Companies provide the management capacities and the internship position; they cover the costs for the place of living and the health insurance. A scholarship of 550,00 Euro per month is financed through the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. The Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations supports candidates with the visa application process and is responsible for obtaining the working permit.
A pre-selection of suitable candidates is done according to the companies’ requirements. Pre-selected candidates are invited to personal interviews which are organized by OA and UCCI in different cities of Ukraine. Subsequently, profiles of suitable candidates are forwarded to interested companies. After reviewing the provided profiles, companies take their final decision.
The final deadline for submission of applications: 31 May, 2015.
